Is Maroon 5 Making a Comeback with BLACKPINK Lisa?

Two weeks ago, the pop-rock powerhouse confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he is working on another single. A week after the vocalist’s guesting, Maroon 5 shared another post on their accounts about the last touch of their upcoming discography. The group’s previous album was released four years ago, making their fans more eager to listen to new music from the American pop-rock band.

The band shared a cryptic teaser on their social media accounts two days ago about the possible collaboration. The photo shows a man and a woman with their backs turned, gazing out a high-rise window. Fans are sure that the lead singer of Maroon 5 was in the left photo. Yet, who is the girl on the right side? The band’s followers and casual listeners zoomed in, enhanced the image, and compared silhouettes. Their suspicion? The woman looks strikingly like Lisa from BLACKPINK.

One fan’s comment on X (formerly Twitter) summed up the excitement: “We may sound crazy, but the HAIR and BODY are all LISA coded.” That phrase quickly took off, trending in fandom circles and fueling the theory. With Lisa’s global influence and Maroon 5’s mainstream success, teaming up doesn’t just sound possible but inevitable.

Clues didn’t stop at the image. Online interactions also intensified the rumors. Maroon 5’s official account liked one of Lisa’s recent posts about her stunning Coachella 2025 performance. Then, Travis Hartley Schneider—Maroon 5’s longtime photographer—suddenly followed a string of Lisa-related accounts on social media. It includes her personal page, her new label’s page, and the profiles of her managers, Alice and Chase. As if that weren’t enough, Lisa’s Coachella stylist Brett Alan Nelson also shared Maroon 5’s teaser on his Instagram Story. Coincidence? Fans think not.

Adding to the intrigue, Adam Levine gave a teasing “sort of” confirmation on his interview. When asked about new music, Levine revealed, “We have a single coming at the end of the month-ish, and an album coming over the summer—non-specifically around the summertime—and we’re hitting the road in the fall-ish.” Though he didn’t name Lisa directly, fans took this as a near-confirmation of the rumors.

It’s a common fact that the BLACKPINK member has been controlling her solo career with dominance starting a year ago. The K-POP superstar launched her company, LLOUD, in collaboration with RCA Records. A few days ago, she ended her talk-of-the-town two-weekend electrifying solo set at Coachella.

Her Coachella performance includes her past singles with YG Entertainment and her recent debut solo album release, Alter Ego. The album includes high-profile collaborations with Rosalia, Doja Cat, Raye, Megan Thee Stallion, and Future. Each release has showcased her ability to blend genres and push creative boundaries.

Consequently, Maroon 5 has been relatively quiet since the release of Jordi in 2021. Their album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 with a few single bangers. In 2023, they dropped a single called “Middle Ground,” which kept their name in rotation but didn’t signal a full return—until now. With Lisa’s momentum and Maroon 5’s legacy, a collaboration could be the perfect storm of East-meets-West pop magic.

This partnership could be one of 2025’s most iconic cross-cultural releases if confirmed. Maroon 5 is known for its past genre-blending collaborations. They have collaborated with stars like Christina Aguilera, SZA, Wiz Khalifa, and Kendrick Lamar. As fans count down the days, one thing’s for sure—this Maroon 5 comeback could be legendary.
