Is there a collaboration between Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae?

Is it true that pop sensation Tate McRae and country megastar Morgan Wallen will collaborate? As Morgan announces his album “Im The Problem” on May 16, his fans latch onto every clue about the female artist with whom he will collaborate. Is it Tate McRae or any other artist?

The fire started burning on April 15, when McRae posted a cryptic Instagram Story. The “Sports Car” singer uploaded a tight shot of a classic orange Tennessee Volunteers jersey in her story. It might be a simple story for the pop star, but the thing that caught her fan’s attention was the custom details. The jersey she uploaded has a patch stitched with the initials “T8” and “MW.”

There was no caption, no tag—just a visual breadcrumb that fans were quick to dissect. “MW” aligns perfectly with Morgan Wallen, a Tennessee native and longtime Volunteers supporter. As for “T8,” the internet has all but confirmed it as shorthand for Tate.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Wallen posted a Story shortly after that read: “I haven’t seen one person guess the female collab on this album correctly yet.” The comment immediately diverted attention away from their suspects. The fans suspect before are country names like Megan Moroney, Ella Langley, and Miranda Lambert.

Because of that hot spill, they immediately pointed the spotlight toward someone outside the genre. That shift has made McRae, a rising pop star with recent chart success, a leading candidate.

Wallen’s I’m The Problem is shaping to be one of the year’s biggest albums, featuring 37 tracks. It includes Billboard hits like “Just in Case” and the title track, “I’m the Problem.” And while fans are still decoding the female feature, one collaboration is confirmed: Wallen and Post Malone reunite for “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.”  The song was set to release on April 18, and it’s been a year since the two stars dominated the charts with their hit “I Had Some Help.” 

With Wallen’s Sand in My Boots festival set for May 16–18 and a star-studded lineup, fans are hoping a surprise live duet with McRae could be part of the experience.

While neither artist has confirmed the collab, the signs are stacking up. Between the mysterious jersey, Wallen’s cryptic comments, and the growing cross-genre trend in music, the idea of a Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae collab feels more real by the day. Whether it’s a breakup anthem or a summer banger, one thing is clear: fans are ready to support them.
