Maya Bank crowned best PH bank by Forbes for 2025

Maya Bank has reinforced its dominance in digital finance, earning the prestigious title of the Philippines’ best overall bank in Forbes’ 2025 rankings. The bank also secured top digital bank recognition in the country from The Banker, a publication of the Financial Times.

The accolade from Forbes marks Maya Bank’s first time leading the Philippine rankings and its third consecutive appearance on the publication’s esteemed global roster. The bank outperformed both traditional and digital competitors in the country, securing the highest national ranking based on customer satisfaction and five weighted factors: trustworthiness, terms and conditions, customer service, digital services, and quality of financial advice.

Maya Bank Earns Global Banking Recognition

Forbes partnered with research firm Statista to conduct its annual survey, gathering insights from more than 50,000 consumers across 34 countries.

Meanwhile, The Banker highlighted Maya Bank’s strength in asset performance, capital efficiency, and growth, naming it the top-ranked digital bank in the Philippines as part of its inaugural Neobank Rankings. The recognition places Maya Bank among the world’s Top 100 digital-first banks, underscoring its rising influence in the competitive financial sector.

“These global recognitions reflect our relentless focus on creating a digital banking experience that is simple, inclusive, and deeply trusted by our customers,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group president and co-founder of Maya Bank.

“Our goal at Maya Bank has always been to make everyday banking more accessible and meaningful for more Filipinos. These recognitions remind us that designing for inclusion—whether it’s easier credit, better savings, or seamless digital access—can create real impact at scale,” added Angelo Madrid, president of Maya Bank.

Maya Bank’s Dedication to Financial Inclusion

Orlando Vea, Maya founder, chief executive, and Maya Bank co-founder, emphasized the significance of the achievement: “We are proud to represent the Philippines in the global banking and fintech stage, and we remain committed to building an equitable future for all Filipinos where financial empowerment is truly universal.”

The awards follow Maya Bank’s strong financial performance in 2024, during which it contributed to its parent group’s profitability milestone while expanding access to digital banking services across the Philippines.

By year-end, Maya Bank’s deposit base surged to P39 billion, marking a 59 percent increase from the previous year, alongside a growing customer base that reached 5.4 million users. Its credit portfolio expanded rapidly, with cumulative loan disbursements hitting P92 billion, including 100,000 newly issued credit cards—40 percent of which went to first-time cardholders.

Maya Bank’s latest recognitions further solidify its position as a leader in the digital banking revolution, reflecting its commitment to financial inclusion and innovation.
